WOYWW-253- Still here but not quite?

I feel abit of a fraud, as haven't done alot of crafting lately, this is my desk today.  Seems its a bit of a dumping ground at the mo.  Have been working hard on my Creative Embroidery course and this is my end of first terms project.
One evening bag made from scratch, the only bought item is the fastener.  Material was made using calico and painted bondaweb.  Machine embroidered , organza added etc.  Leaves again either machine embroidered or hand done. also used some angelina fibres and machine embroidered.

Now to the important bit to look at everyone desk, please hop over to the lovely Julias for the T&C.

For those of you in the know, update on my Mum, she has been out of hospital now for 5 weeks with si far no relapses. she is very frail and has lost alot of weight so I'm building her up .  Reason for my absence is I did not want to tempt fate and last time I wrote Mum only managed 4 days out of hospital.  So I'm am still here and read your blogs , but don,t comment.  no quite in the throws of bloging full time again yet.   Wishing everyone a good sunny day today.

  1. A very impressive bag Francesca. And you have been missed. In fact was only thinking of you yesterday and was going to pop over to see how things are with you and your mum. Then up you pop.
Hope you get her built up soon and then you and your mum can enjoy the sunny weather I am ordering for you.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  10. Hi Francesca - for someone who hasn't managed to do much crafting, you hid it well! That bag is lovely. Sorry about your Mum, hope she picks up real soon - so glad you can give her TLC. My Mum (90) lives with us, and I'm so glad I can look after her, too. Have a good week, Chris #35

  12. Great bag and it reminds me of years ago when I did City & Guilds in creative textiles/ embroidery as I loved making things like that. I remember taking a course with Jean Littlejohn and Jan Beaney who teach down South of England and they were inspirational. Love their books too. Good luck with the rest of your course, you certainly have a flair.

  14. So lovely to see your comment over at OCC - thank you for that... and I do hope it's a sign that things are going well with building your mum up. I'm sure she couldn't be in more loving hands - I completely get the thing about the superstition of mentioning it.
Best wishes to both of you,
    Alison xx
