WOYWW #206- Paper or Fabric?

Hello to all the Wowers out there, ( if you don't what I mean for details, get yourself over to the StampingGround)  I'm back again, still not fully fit but getting there.  This is whats on my desk at the mo, started it on Saturday, going to be the cover for one of my stamp binders.  Th top with the cogs isn't finished, I have painted with a base colour, then added raised bits (ie buttons and crystals I know) and painted with Red Iron Oxide from Decoart. Not sure yet if I will make it look rusty or with a copper patina, watch space......
These are the two bits apart
This is the backer I did, in the style of Andy Skinner.  As to fabric, I have always been a traditional Embroiderer, cross stitch, canvas , Stump work, Gold work.  So when I got the opportunity  on the off chance to do a Fabric Collage class, right outside my comfort zone, I thought why not.  So did it yesterday, with a lovely tutor Jae Maries.

This piece I have called "Industry" going from light to dark, the greys being the factories, yellow pollution, and the bottom RH corner what is produced.  Its all open to interpretation.
This is untitled at the mo, fabric pieces were just dropped onto the backing fabric and I will just stitch into place.  So that it for me this week, mojo starting to return so more next week.  Please all have a good week.

WOYWW #205- Is it really her?

Yes I'm still alive, just....apologises for the lack of posting and commenting in the last 3 weeks, but I have been incapacitated.  the dreaded cold and cough virus came back with a vengeance, I was unable to do anything and unfortunately my hubby has been the same.  However today for the first time I have felt like doing a post.  Not much of one.  The first pic is of my desk as of this morning, with the last thing I did 3 weeks ago.  Basically using Paperartsey stamps, Distress inks and embossing plates.  Pull the string and the body rotates.  Due to the lack of mojo thought you might like to see my effort at Goldwork...
New to me, but again on e of the last classes I did before getting sick.  Really enjoyed it, the the mystery unravelled, lots of different types of thread and wire, basically couched down, but so effective.
To get details get blog snooping hop over to the lovely Julia's at Stamping ground.  Have a good day all.

WOW #202-Kusudama?

Just a quickie post today to all the wowers out there.  Firstly I would like to apologise for not visiting very many others last week.   But on last Wed. afternoon I developed the dreaded virus that has been around all winter.  Better now but still have a rotten cough.  But on to better things, Kusudama refer to the flower I have been making while laid up last week.  They are made from individuals squares of paper, folded origami style.  Book is a new sewing journal I am starting, thought i would spruce it up.  Flowers are not attached!
For all the details re WoW hop over to the lovely Julia's @ StampingGround.  Have a good day everyone, and my thoughts go out to everyone over the pond in Boston.

WOYWW #200- When is a desk not a desk....

When its the Dining Room table...to explain yesterday I had a Play date with my pal Karin.  We had decided that we would make Tim's April tag, plus do the March one as well, as we both had not managed to do on time.  So desk made its way to the dining room, abit tidier than desk at the mo,  which is even worse than last week.  If you have no idea what I', talking about, hop over to Julia's Stamping Ground for the details.
This is my effort for March.
This is the result for April . I have used the number  9 as that my birth date in April, what a sutle hint( I think not).  Hope everyone has a good day....

Tim's April Tag

This is my take of Tim's April tag.  I have use Peeled Paint and Broken china Distress paints as they are all I have, so then used some others to get the contrast.  Borrowed the Dragon fly stamp from my pal Karin.  For the wings I have used fantasy film as it give the iridescence.  Few do dads and used the number 9 as its my birth date in April. For details etc hope over to Tims Blog...
