WOYWW #227 - I'm here again.....

Firstly welcome to my new followers, and thank you for thinking i'm worth following.

Second, you might have noticed my absense of late, and lack of posting.  Well, life decided to drop a bombshell, my beautiful 83 year old Mother was diagnosed with CLL(Chronic Lymphcystic Leukeamia)  She is having treatment and so far all fine, but today not such a good day.   I don't write this for sympathy but I need to get it out....

That said this is my desk as of last night, managing to finish all the tags for Tim's chemistry 102, day 2.  Its the most craftying I have done recently ad a good outlet.  To find out what WOYWW is hop over to the lovely Julia's for the details.  Wishing you all a good day.

  1. Sharing is not a ploy for sympathy but a way of releasing a little tension. Also making those stunning tags can help also. I see you are learning a lot in Tim's class. #29

  2. Good to see you back, Francesca!

I am so sorry to hear what you and your mom are going through and I know exactly how it is :(
If you want to talk about it (as this sometimes might have been something I would have needed but hadn't) - drop me a line (e-mail to be found with my contact page on my blog). My mom died from lung cancer several years ago and her fight was so hard to watch without being able to really "help"... that's something I would not wish anyone to meet in his life (for both parts).

Take care! And try to have as many happy moments and time-outs as you can!

  9. So sorry to hear about you Mom. Hugs going your way. Oh my your day 2 tags are wonderful. I just finished day one....no stencils for day two unless I go shopping. The stencils look like a lot of fun! If you had to guess how long did it take you to do day three? it took me all day long for day 1. I'm slow, and it's all new to me. I was home ill yesterday but managed to get it done. Beautiful work you did!

    Hugs. Robin#34

  11. So sorry to read about your Mother- the hardest part is feeling so helpless. Sending her lots of love and good wishes. I didn't sign up for 102, thought I would struggle finding the time, I did struggle a bit fitting in 101. Your tags are lovely! Have a good week, Hugs, Shaz #31 xx

  13. I wish you lots of strength with the situation! Not only strength in supporting her and carrying on, but also in letting yourself go, release the stress and tension, stand still/sit down and let your feelings out. (And then, to get back up and carry on).

Now onto happier things: I loooove your tags. Beautiful colours, and I took a good look at the clocks one - I have the same folder and have recently made something similar (with plain kitchen aluminium foil). But yours looks better, with the black in the bottom and polished top. I should pratice it a bit more.

  15. I hope the treatment for your mum goes well, My mum has just been told she has a mark on her face that is cancerous. It make me mad as she's been mentioning it since the beginning of the year and each time the doctors have said, it was okay, if it hurts when you touch it, don't touch it, at last one new doctor saw it and straight away she had a hospital appointment and is now going in to have it sorted. Your tags all look fabulous and colourful!
    Happy woyww

  16. Thanks for swinging by Francesca...sorry for the late visit. Sorry to hear about your Mother..sending you positive thoughts. In response to your question the Highline is a converted rail line that runs from 10th ave to 30th ave above ground and has lovely plants, sculpture, benches etc, it's a beautiful use of the space. I love your tags..I am going to be trying my hand at more altered art over the next couple of months. Cx #30

  18. Francesca - pour out all you want to me, I have a good listening ear. So sorry to hear about your mum, it kinda knocks you sideways doesn't it when someone you love and care for becomes ill. Will put you both on my prayer list.
Glad you managed to get some crafting time in - lovely tags you have done - keep them coming, it will help you.
Thanks for sharing - Love and Hugs, neet 35 xx

  19. Hi Francesca,

I hope your mother gets along with her treatments. We all need an ear every now and then so don't feel that we won't want to hear. We all have our ups and downs and it's nice to have our friends in blogland to help us through (maybe not said so eloquently here but I hope you understand).

Your tags look great - creating is another great outlet to help us through our hard times.

    Happy belated WOYWW

  20. Thanks for stopping by, I'm running way behind, weather here is still nice and helping hubby finish fields before fall changes it's tune. Sorry to hear about your medical issues with your mother. Just went thru a lot of that in June with my dad, he passed in July and mother has a bit of memory loss and is in assisted living. So it keeps one busy.
Hope things fall into place for you and enjoy a great weekend. Oh..your desk!! beautiful colors..Love to see the TH tags, so many I follow do them.
